* The Cement Operator role is a Production department position with a focus on operating, monitoring, and maintaining equipment used for mixing, application, painting, and handling of cement or cement-based materials. Adecco is recruiting for this position on behalf of a manufacturing client in the waterworks-related industry. In this non-exempt role, you will report to the Assistant Production Manager and the Production Manager while working on a first-shift schedule in a production environment.
The Cement Operator ensures that all parts and coated surfaces meet specified quality, safety, and production standards. This position requires consistent attention to detail, adherence to work instructions and production schedules, and strict compliance with safety rules and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
** Benefits*
* + Hourly pay rate of $16.00, with the position classified as FLSA non-exempt for overtime eligibility consistent with applicable regulations.
+ Standard first-shift schedule of 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing consistent daytime hours for most scheduled production workdays.
** What You Will Do?*
* + Operate cement spraying equipment to apply cement or cement-based materials evenly to molds or products according to established specifications and work instructions.
+ Monitor spray consistency, coating thickness, and coverage on all parts to ensure they meet defined quality, safety, and production standards at all times.
+ Prepare surfaces before coating by performing required cleaning, masking, sanding, or blasting steps in accordance with process requirements and job travelers.
+ Inspect coated parts and finished surfaces visually and with basic measurement methods to verify that all quality standards and product specifications have been met.
+ Load cement or coating materials into spray equipment, maintain proper material flow, and perform routine checks to keep the equipment operating correctly throughout the shift.
+ Perform basic equipment maintenance and minor operational adjustments, promptly identifying and reporting any equipment malfunctions or material defects to supervision or maintenance personnel.
+ Complete touch-ups and rework on coated parts when needed to ensure products meet customer specifications and internal quality criteria before leaving the area.
+ Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all safety rules, PPE requirements, company policies, and documented production procedures.
+ Follow work instructions and production schedules provided by the Assistant Production Manager, Production Manager, or other supervisors, and perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
** Your Skills*
* + High school diploma or GED, with 1-3 years of experience completing warehouse tasks in an industrial, production, or similar work environment.
+ Experience using spray equipment or similar application equipment, with demonstrated ability to operate spray equipment safely and consistently during production operations.
+ Understanding of the cement or coating application process, including how surface preparation, material flow, and spray settings influence coating quality and final product performance.
+ Clear, concise, and accurate communication skills to interact effectively with supervisors, team members, and other departments regarding production status, issues, and safety concerns.
+ Ability to prioritize tasks effectively while working within production schedules and adjusting to changing requirements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
+ Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with others to meet quality, safety, and production standards and to support overall departmental goals.
+ Basic mathematics and basic computer experience sufficient to read and follow work instructions, complete simple data entry, and perform routine production-related calculations.
+ High attention to detail, including the ability to recognize coating defects, inconsistencies, or equipment issues and to address or report them before parts advance to the next process.
