* For a production-focused client in the manufacturing sector, Adecco is hiring a Cement Operator to support cement and cement-based coating operations on metal parts and related products. In this non-exempt role, you will operate, monitor, and maintain equipment used for mixing, application, painting, and handling of cement or cement-based materials while following detailed work instructions and production schedules. The Cement Operator is responsible for ensuring parts meet defined quality, safety, and production standards through consistent application, inspection, and rework when required.
This position is physically demanding and requires strict adherence to safety procedures, use of personal protective equipment, and comfort working around moving machinery and heavy materials.
** Benefits*
* + Hourly pay for this non-exempt position is $17.50 per hour, subject to applicable payroll practices and deductions.
+ Standard schedule for this role is 2nd shift from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM, with actual hours determined by current business and production needs.
** What You Will Do?*
* + Operate cement spraying equipment to apply material evenly to molds or products, ensuring consistent coverage of all specified surfaces.
+ Monitor spray consistency, thickness, and overall coverage during application to meet established product specifications and quality requirements.
+ Prepare surfaces before coating by cleaning, masking, sanding, or blasting as required to achieve proper adhesion and finish quality.
+ Inspect finished surfaces visually and with required checks to confirm that all quality standards, tolerances, and specifications are fully met.
+ Follow written work instructions, job travelers, and production schedules to complete assigned tasks in the correct order and timeframe.
+ Load cement or coating materials into spray equipment, maintain proper material flow, and verify equipment settings remain within specified parameters.
+ Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance, and promptly identify and report equipment malfunctions or material defects to supervision.
+ Perform touch-ups or rework on coated parts as needed, ensuring reworked areas meet the same standards as original applications.
+ Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including tools, equipment, and surrounding production space, in accordance with housekeeping expectations.
+ Adhere to all safety rules, required PPE usage, and company policies, and complete other tasks assigned by supervision or management as needed.
** Your Skills*
* + High school diploma or GED is required, providing the foundational education necessary for following instructions and performing basic job calculations.
+ Previous experience using spray equipment or similar equipment, with demonstrated ability to safely operate spray systems in a production environment.
+ One to three years of experience completing warehouse tasks, including handling materials, organizing work areas, and supporting production workflows.
+ Understanding of the cement or coating application process, including how preparation, material selection, and equipment settings affect coating performance.
+ Proven ability to operate spray equipment safely and consistently, adjusting as needed to maintain specification-compliant coverage and finish quality.
+ Clear, concise, and accurate communication skills to effectively relay information to supervisors, co-workers, and other team members on the production floor.
+ Ability to prioritize effectively in a production environment, managing multiple tasks while meeting safety, quality, and schedule expectations.
+ Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and quality personnel to meet shared goals and deadlines.
+ Basic mathematics skills to perform measurements, verify coating thickness, and understand quantities related to materials and production requirements.
+ Basic computer experience sufficient to navigate production systems, enter data, and review digital work instructions or schedules as necessary.
+ High attention to detail, including the ability to notice surface defects, inconsistent coverage, or equipment issues that may affect product quality.
+ Ability to lift and move up to 45 pounds during a 10-hour shift and frequently stand, bend, and lift throughout the workday as job tasks require.
+ Capability for repetitive use of hands and arms, including handling spray equipment, parts, and tools over extended periods of time during the shift.
+ Ability to wear all required PPE, including respirators and protective gear, and consistently comply with all safety and health requirements.
+ Willingness and ability to work in various climate conditions with exposure to moving machinery, heavy materials, and grinding equipment as part of daily work.
