Openwork, formerly Meador Staffing, is currently recruiting for an experienced Lead Machinist for a day shift opportunity with a leading precision manufacturing company in the Houston area. This is a hands‑on leadership role for a highly skilled machinist with extensive experience in manual machining, CNC machining, and CNC programming.

SCHEDULE- Day Shift
- Monday–Friday 6am-3pm
- Overtime opportunities available
- Location:
Houston, TX- near Hobby Airport - PAY:$30+ Depending on experience
- Lead daily machining operations while working alongside the production team.
- Set up and operate both manual and CNC machine tools.
- Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs to improve efficiency and quality.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to minimize downtime.
- Verify part quality using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Ensure jobs are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule.
- Mentor and train machinists on best practices, machine operation, and quality standards.
- Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet customer requirements.
- Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Extensive experience in manual machining, CNC machining, and CNC programming.
- Strong background in machine set‑ups, tooling, and precision machining.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proven troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience leading or mentoring machinists in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
