Openwork, formerly Meador Staffing, is currently recruiting for an experienced Lead Machinist for a day shift opportunity with a leading precision manufacturing company in the Houston area. This is a hands‑on leadership role for a highly skilled machinist with extensive experience in manual machining, CNC machining, and CNC programming.

SCHEDULE
  • Day Shift
  • Monday–Friday 6am-3pm
  • Overtime opportunities available
  • Location:

    Houston, TX- near Hobby Airport
  • PAY:$30+ Depending on experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead daily machining operations while working alongside the production team.
  • Set up and operate both manual and CNC machine tools.
  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to minimize downtime.
  • Verify part quality using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Ensure jobs are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule.
  • Mentor and train machinists on best practices, machine operation, and quality standards.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet customer requirements.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Extensive experience in manual machining, CNC machining, and CNC programming.
  • Strong background in machine set‑ups, tooling, and precision machining.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience leading or mentoring machinists in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
