Job SummaryThe Production Supervisor oversees daily production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. This role supervises production employees, supports production schedules, monitors productivity and quality, and ensures compliance with safety and operating procedures. The Production Supervisor works closely with the Plant Manager and cross-functional teams to meet production goals and drive continuous improvement.
Job FunctionsThe essential functions of the Production Supervisor include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Support production planning by establishing daily work assignments and staffing priorities.
- Monitor production capacity and identify bottlenecks impacting productivity and throughput.
- Ensure employee responsibilities are clearly defined, understood, and consistently executed.
- Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain regular communication with employees to promote teamwork, morale, and operational effectiveness.
- Monitor, measure, and report production performance metrics including productivity, labor efficiency, scrap, downtime, quality, and schedule attainment.
- Analyze performance shortfalls and implement corrective actions to improve results and operational efficiency.
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
- Direct and support production employees to ensure safe, efficient, and quality-focused operations.
- Ensure compliance with work instructions, quality standards, safety policies, and operating procedures.
- Train, coach, and develop production employees to improve performance and skill development.
- Monitor attendance, staffing levels, and overtime requirements within assigned departments.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, and Production Management to resolve operational issues and support production goals.
- Promote and support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and workflow efficiency.
- Complete and maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation.
- Support inventory accuracy through cycle count activities and inventory control practices.
- Ensure production supplies and materials are available to support manufacturing requirements.
- Complete required reports, documentation, and administrative tasks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in wire mesh, metal fabrication, welding, steel processing, or a related industry.
- Previous supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of production processes, quality standards, safety requirements, and manufacturing best practices.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement principles.
- Effective leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic ERP/CRM systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.

- Standing/Walking/Mobility:
Regularly required to stand, walk, and move throughout the production floor to supervise operations and employees. (75% to 100%) - Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling:
