Shift: 2nd Shift | Late Afternoon-Evening.
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site | Overtime as needed
VSSI Staffing is seeking an experienced Production Operations Supervisor to oversee second-shift production operations. This position is responsible for directing employees, coordinating daily workflow, and ensuring production goals are completed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards.
The ideal candidate has hands-on manufacturing experience, previous leadership responsibilities, and the ability to resolve production issues while working with limited supervision.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and support production employees throughout the assigned shift.
- Coordinate daily work assignments based on production priorities.
- Monitor productivity, quality, attendance, and employee performance.
- Ensure production schedules and customer requirements are met.
- Identify workflow problems and help minimize production delays.
- Work closely with maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues.
- Complete shift reports, production records, and ERP/MRP system updates.
- Enforce PPE requirements, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready work areas using 5S practices.
- Assist with employee training, coaching, and development.
- Support Lean, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement projects.
- Communicate production status, concerns, and priorities during shift handoffs.
- At least three years of production or manufacturing experience.
- One to three years of team lead or supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Ability to understand production schedules, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems and basic computer programs.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make decisions and lead operations independently during second shift.
- Flexibility to work overtime when needed.
- Background in machining, fabrication, assembly, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or Quality Management Systems.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
