CNC Machinist

Meador an Openwork Company is currently seeking a dependable CNC Machinist to join a growing safety equipment supplier in Houston, TX. This is a great opportunity for someone with warehouse experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in accuracy, organization, and teamwork.

Position Summary

The Machinist will set-up and operate a CNC Lathe / Mill. The Machinist will implement all data entry systems and processes and will provide daily support for software programming applications.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates a good working knowledge of machine tooling applications and servicing. Works closely with other machinists to provide technical assistance to tooling related issues.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of processes necessary to complete all assigned task within the production schedule.
  • Demonstrates a good working knowledge of machine equipment functions and servicing. Able to perform preventive maintenance as assigned.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of the process flow of parts through the manufacturing process.
  • Load and unload raw materials onto the CNC machine, selecting appropriate materials based on project requirements.
Qualifications:
  • 3 – 5 years' experience as CNC Machinist 1 or equivalent, with demonstrated proficiency in operating multi-axis CNC machines
  • CNC – Has a good understanding of machine control interfaces. Provides daily support for software programming applications. Displays a solid understanding of programming, editing and offset. Troubleshoots and resolves routing software issues.
  • Fully understands and implements all data entry systems and processes. Capable of reading prints and drawings.
  • Able to run manual and CNC equipment.
  • Performs all in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers and height gauges).
  • Modify existing CNC programs to improve efficiency, adjust machining parameters and troubleshoot minor programming errors.
  • Ability to independently set up CNC machines.
  • Understand advanced CNC programming concepts like G and M codes, as well as machining techniques like turning, milling, drilling and threading.
  • Ability to read blueprints.

Shift Time: 4pm-12:30am

Schedule:

Mon - Fri | $25-$28/hour (+ $1 differential)
