Altamira Material Solutions seeks an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to lead EHS programs for our advanced metal matrix composite manufacturing operations. In this hands-on role, you will own site safety, environmental compliance, and health initiatives, partnering closely with engineering and production teams. Key responsibilities include managing OSHA and EPA compliance, conducting risk assessments and audits, leading incident investigations, and developing targeted safety training.

You will track EHS metrics, drive continuous improvement, and strengthen a proactive safety culture in a high-tech, fast-growing manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead site-wide environmental, health, and safety programs for a manufacturing facility producing advanced metal matrix composites.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state and local regulations, maintaining required permits and records.
  • Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and EHS audits; implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop, deliver, and track EHS training for production, engineering, and support teams.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
  • Monitor air, noise, chemical, and hazardous materials controls; oversee proper storage, labeling, and waste disposal.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to integrate EHS into new processes, equipment, and scaling activities.
  • Lead emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response, including contractor and visitor safety requirements.
  • Track and report EHS metrics, trends, and KPIs to leadership, recommending risk-reduction initiatives.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture with strong shop-floor presence, coaching, and engagement with all employees.
