Superior Completions is currently seeking a 2nd Shift CNC Lathe Machinist 1 for our office in Houston, TX
.
As a 2nd Shift CNC Lathe Machinist 1, you’ll be at the heart of precision manufacturing – setting up, programming, and operating state-of-the-art CNC lathe machines to bring innovative tool designs to life. Your expertise ensures accuracy, efficiency, and the highest quality in every component produced.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Reads blueprints and sets up the CNC Lathe to machine parts per specifications.
- Edits the G-Code program to machine parts of varying sizes.
- Capable of running 2 CNC machines.
- Set up parts on the CNC machine, including installing jaws, bore jaws, tool offsets, and 1st part prove out.
- Lifts raw material and attaches it appropriately to the Lathe for
- Operates the CNC lathe machine to turn raw materials into finished parts.
- Follows safety precautions and safety guidelines.
- Operates cranes and overhead cranes as needed.
- Inspects machined components and records

Education- High school diploma or GED required.
- A minimum of one to three years work‑related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CNC milling experience desired.
- Proficient in communicating with colleagues and in creating a team working environment.
- Current health, safety & environmental (HSE) training as per division training matrix (includes both regulatory and SES required courses).
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safe operations.
- Ethical business practices.
- Applicable PPE required to complete assigned tasks.
- Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Understanding written statements in work‑related documents.
- Identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and recommend solutions.
