We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our Houston Service Center team and play a critical role in supporting the repair and production operations for compression equipment components. This position is essential to maintaining efficient workflows and delivering on our service commitments to customers. Key responsibilities include setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to manufacture and repair precision parts to exact specifications, as well as inspecting completed work to ensure the highest standards of quality.

The role also requires strict adherence to all safety procedures and workshop protocols. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience operating lathes, mills, and grinders, the ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings and specifications, and a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement. This opportunity is well suited for a developing professional with foundational machining experience who can work effectively under moderate supervision while contributing to a high-performing service team.

How

You’ll Make An Impact
  • Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses, to manufacture and repair precision components.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and CAD models to determine machining methods, tooling, and material requirements.
  • Program, load, and adjust CNC machine instructions while performing routine equipment maintenance to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify compliance with quality, dimensional, and tolerance standards.
  • Maintain accurate production, maintenance, and inspection records while identifying opportunities for process, design, or material improvements.
  • Follow all safety, GMP, and OSHA requirements, and maintain a clean, organized work environment that promotes operational excellence.
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training, technical certification, or an associate degree in Machining or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on machinist experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or repair environment.
  • Proficiency operating manual and CNC machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience selecting and using cutting tools, reading specifications, and performing precision machining operations.
  • Knowledge of quality control processes, product inspection techniques, and precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers, with an understanding of engineering tolerances.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and compliance, including adherence to OSHA and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP);
    Forklift Certification and OSHA 10‑Hour General Industry Card preferred.
