CNC Machinists

CNC Machinists are needed by Aerotek for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Houston, Texas. This role involves setting up and operating CNC machining centers, mills, and lathes to produce large-scale, precision parts for industries such as oil and gas, mining, and aerospace. Candidates will work primarily night shifts in a large, multi-building machine shop, with exposure to advanced multi-axis CNC technology and a variety of complex projects.

The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with heavy equipment and tight tolerances.

• Hands-on CNC machining experience on lathes and mills
• Ability to independently set up CNC and manual machines
• Experience with large-scale parts and overhead lifting equipment
• Strong blueprint reading and precision measuring skills
• Ability to hold tight machining tolerances (+/- 0.001" and 0.004–0.005")
• Comfort working with cast iron, rolled steel, and carbon steel
• Ability to perform in-process inspection and quality checks
• Willingness to work consistent night shifts
• Preparedness to bring a personal tool list for certification

• Experience with Fanuc controls
• Programming experience on CNC machines
• Past machining experience for heavy equipment manufacturers (e.g., CAT, Komatsu)
• Experience with 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machines (Wester Bennett, Toshiba, UG)
• Familiarity with Plex or similar manufacturing execution/quality tracking systems
