JOB SUMMARY:
The TIG Welder plays an important role in the production of high-quality pressure and temperature instrumentation. This position primarily focuses on pressure instruments, requiring Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding skills to meticulously weld and assemble components, ensuring the structural integrity and functionality of our products. The role requires working closely with the manufacturing team to maintain our highest quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
TIG Welding and Fabrication:
- Expertly perform Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding to precisely join components and fabricate assemblies.
- Read and interpret drawings and work instructions for accurate welding and assembly.
- Execute repetitive production work, maintaining consistent quality standards to ensure that welds are both structurally sound and cosmetically good.
Material Preparation:
- Prepare materials for welding, encompassing cutting, grinding, and cleaning to ensure optimal welding conditions.
- Conduct thorough inspections of materials to detect defects and quality issues, addressing them to maintain the integrity of the finished product.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct visual inspections of welds to uphold company standards for quality and consistency.
- Actively participate in quality control procedures to identify and resolve any welding or assembly-related issues.
Safety and Equipment Maintenance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and practices to create and maintain a safe working environment.
- Regularly perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools to ensure they remain in good working condition.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to meet production goals and timelines.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers to address any issues or challenges that come up during the manufacturing process.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience as a TIG Welder, especially with small and/or thin metal welds such as turbine blades. A demonstrated track record of consistently producing high-quality welds.
- An in-person weld test will be required for candidates. This will be evaluated as part of the interview process.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to ensure precision.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional quality in every weld.
- Excellent knowledge of welding equipment, tools, and safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in welding is a plus.
- Self-motivated with a strong ability to work independently.
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and dedication to the role.
- Effective communication skills in English (both reading and speaking).
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
