Summary
Poly Assistant reports to the Equipment/Poly Division of Siddons-Martin Emergency Group.
Duties and Responsibilities
The responsibility includes, but is not limited to, a dedication to the company's mission statement, to company profitability and 100% customer satisfaction.
- Assist in fabricating High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) into customized and production items. This includes but is not limited to preparing the CNC table for cut runs, operating a manual router, operating a poly welder.
- Prep completed parts for installation or shipping
- Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures and Best Practices guideline as outlined in the SMEG Loose Equipment SOG manual.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be able to follow directions
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem
- High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
- Must be dependable.
- Must have the ability to work independently
- Should have excellent verbal communication skills
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Clean driving record with Class C driver license.
- Knowledge of firefighting tools/equipment preferred
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk stairs and/or climb ladders.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
