Dover Precision Components is hiring a Manufacturing Supervisor for our Cook Compression brand, located at our South Houston/ Pearland ISO certified manufacturing facility. This role oversees production on 2nd shift (Monday
- Friday 3pm- 12am). We are part of Dover Corporation, a $7.7 billion global company known for stability and innovation.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As the 2nd Shift Manufacturing Supervisor, you will supervise the manufacturing processes in a safe and efficient manner to ensure product is shipped on time and at a profit.

Responsible for supervising, planning team support, schedule adherence and directing the hourly work force to achieve daily plans to satisfy customer demand. This includes managing a team of around 26 people, including machine operators, machinists, and assembly personnel.

The shift hours are 3:00 pm- 12am.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise a make to order, precision component manufacturing site which includes CNC and manual machining. Ensure team members are safety, quality, and efficiency minded. This role supervises 2nd Shift.
  • Facilitate shift team meetings and safety meetings.
  • Enforce safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including OSHA and company-specific safety guidelines.
  • Conduct accident investigations and complete accident reports as required. Act as point of contact for emergency response on 2nd Shift.
  • Organize and assign work to utilize available skills, knowledge and experience, labor-hours, and production equipment to obtain the most favorable cost and quality consistent with production schedules.
  • Ensure downtime/OEE system is maintained and updated.

    Work closely with plant leadership to achieve production goals.
  • Check on work in progress to ensure the meeting of quality standards;
    Assist with the resolution of CARs and NCMRs, as necessary.
  • Support overall ISO procedures and QMS.
  • Coach, train, motivate, and mentor employees.
  • Participate in new employee selection and hiring.
  • Conduct performance assessments for the hourly team members.

Additionally, the Manufacturing Supervisor is a key team member driving continuous improvement
, including:

  • Understand cell, value stream, and plant metrics. Able to identify gaps between current state and targets and implement corrective actions using problem-solving tools, driving towards operational excellence.
  • Oversee and lead continuous improvement activities on 2nd shift such as 5S, "just-do-it," and Kaizen events.
  • Understand, utilize, and maintain value stream boards to communicate the state of the business daily.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
  • 5+ years’ supervisory production experience, preferably in a high mix manufacturing and machining environment. CNC experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and concepts with continuous improvement experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in motivating a team to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and resolve issues.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, ability to solve complex problems.
  • Experience training machinists on technical and lean aspects.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills and experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel) and ERP/ systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey instructions, report issues, and collaborate with other departments and shifts.

  • Degree in Business, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Lean Manufacturing training and/or certification.
