We are seeking dedicated general assembly technicians for a manufacturer specializing in custom-engineered electrical gear for the energy, industrial, and critical infrastructure sectors. In this role, you will engage in the mechanical assembly of switch gears and panels, utilizing hand tools and power tools to fabricate metal frames and enclosures. Your duties will also include general labor tasks and moving materials manually.
Responsibilities- Perform general mechanical assembly of switch gears and panels.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for fabricating metal frames and enclosures.
- Engage in general labor tasks and move materials manually.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and bills of materials.
- Assist in installation and troubleshooting of equipment.
- 1+ years of manual labor experience.
- Experience working in hot environments.
- Proficiency in reading a tape measure.
- Ownership and proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to work long hours and flexible schedules.
Skills & Qualifications
- Industrial experience is highly desirable.
- Initiative and ability to work every day of the week.
- Experience in roofing, landscaping, or any job in extremely hot environments.

Work EnvironmentLocated in a medium-sized, clean, and organized shop with open bay doors and plenty of fans to keep the space ventilated. The production shop is fast-paced and busy, employing around 15 people per shift including machine operators, fabricators, QC, material handlers, and managers. Employees are expected to wear steel-toed boots, jeans, a work shirt, and safety glasses. The day shift operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, typically working 11 hours per day, 5-6 days a week.
There is also a night shift available from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $15.00 - $18.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
