Mechanical Assembly Technician
This role is responsible for safely assembling equipment by following detailed instructions from supervisors and group leaders. You will work on assemblies of varying size and type, using a range of mechanical, electrical, and manual tools to build and accessorize equipment to precise quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble parts, wires, hoses, and hydraulic components onto products using power equipment and proper wrenching techniques.
- Install a variety of product accessories, including decals, mud flaps, cameras, lights, and other add-ons according to specifications.
- Use hand and pneumatic tools accurately, such as wrenches, hammers, torque guns, and similar equipment.
- Measure components and assemblies accurately using common measuring tools such as tape measures.
- Drill and tap holes for routing wires, hoses, and installing small parts as required by the assembly process.
- Review and interpret schematics, blueprints, and Standard Work Instructions to determine the correct options and configurations needed for each unit.
- Lift and stack completed subassemblies and parts up to 35 pounds independently and participate in team lifts up to 60 pounds.
- Train and work in various areas of the assembly line in response to changing production demands and priorities.
- Follow verbal and written work instructions consistently to ensure proper assembly and workflow.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail to adhere to established quality standards and prevent defects.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with safety procedures, rules, and 6S standards.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support production and operational needs.
Essential
Skills:
- At least 1 year of experience in mechanical assembly or working with mechanical products.
- Ability to accurately use hand and pneumatic tools, including wrenches, hammers, and torque guns.
- Ability to accurately use common measuring tools such as tape measures.
- Capability to drill and tap holes for wires, hoses, and small parts.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and Standard Work Instructions.
- Capacity to lift and stack parts and subassemblies up to 35 pounds and participate in team lifts up to 60 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting quality standards.
- Ability to follow verbal and written work instructions reliably.
- Willingness and ability to train and work in different assembly areas as production demands change.
Additional Skills &
Qualifications:
- Experience with automotive repair or assembly is a plus.
- Familiarity with 6S or similar workplace organization and cleanliness standards.
- Comfort working with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical components.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing production needs and learn new assembly processes.

Work Environment:
This position is based in a manufacturing and assembly facility operating primarily on a 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. shift, with overtime required and very frequent, including late shifts and weekends as needed. You will work in a structured production environment that follows formal safety procedures and 6S standards to maintain cleanliness and organization. The role involves regular use of hand and pneumatic tools, measuring devices, and assembly equipment, as well as standing, lifting, and moving parts throughout the shift.
In order to qualify for $19.65/hr must have 5+ years of experience. Any years of experience below that pay is $17/hr.
