Cable Cutter
This role focuses on cutting and preparing cables to precise measurements for high-precision electronic connectors, custom cable assemblies, and specialized cables used in mission-critical, harsh environments. You will operate cutting equipment, follow production instructions, and support general production activities to ensure accurate, high-quality output.
Responsibilities
- Operate cable cutting machines to cut cables to the correct length according to production specifications and work orders.
- Measure cable lengths accurately using a tape measure and other measuring tools to maintain precise tolerances.
- Use basic math skills to calculate measurements, quantities, and adjustments required for cutting and production.
- Follow paper-based picking orders and production documentation to select the correct materials and components.
- Perform general labor tasks to support production, including moving materials, organizing work areas, and assisting with related duties.
- Assist with assembly, production assembly, and general production tasks as needed to meet daily output goals.
- Use an RF scanner to track materials, inventory, and work progress, ensuring accurate documentation and traceability.
- Stand for the majority of the shift while operating machines, performing measurements, and completing production tasks.
- Follow safety procedures at all times, including proper use of steel-toe footwear and adherence to facility guidelines.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work area to support smooth production flow.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably involving cutting or similar processes.
- Ability to operate cutting machines or similar production equipment safely and efficiently.
- Proficiency with basic math to calculate lengths, quantities, and simple measurements.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for precise cable measurements.
- Experience using an RF scanner to track materials, inventory, or production orders.
- Ability to follow paper-based picking orders and production instructions accurately.
- Capability to perform general labor, assembly, and production assembly tasks.
- Physical ability to stand for an entire shift and handle repetitive tasks in a production setting.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure cables are cut to exact specifications and quality standards.
- Reliability and consistency in following safety procedures and work instructions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Quality experience in a production or manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Inventory experience, including tracking and handling materials, is a plus.
- Experience in general production environments, including general production tasks and support, is beneficial.
- Comfort working with mission-critical products where accuracy and consistency are essential.
- Willingness to work some Saturdays and adjust to varying department schedules when needed.

Work Environment
The facility is climate controlled, providing a comfortable and stable indoor work setting. The standard shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some Saturday work as needed. Certain departments may operate extended hours, such as 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., depending on production demands. You will work around cutting machines, RF scanners, and general production and assembly equipment in a manufacturing environment.
The role requires standing for most of the shift and following safety requirements, including wearing steel-toe boots or sneakers. The dress code is casual and practical, allowing shorts or sweatpants while maintaining compliance with safety footwear and facility guidelines.
