Job SummaryThe Press Brake Operator plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process by setting up and operating press brake machines to shape metal components accurately and efficiently. Job Responsibilities- Set up and operate press brake machinery following detailed procedures to shape metal components efficiently and accurately.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints to determine appropriate machine settings and material placement.
- Use computer-controlled equipment to position and secure work pieces, ensuring correct alignment and stability during operation.
- Adjust machine parameters including force, speed, and angle to meet production requirements and maintain consistent quality standards.
- Conduct routine inspections and tests on finished parts to verify compliance with technical specifications and identify any defects or deviations.
- Maintain accurate production records including machine logs, material usage, and quality control documentation.
- Collaborate with supervisors and maintenance teams to report any machine malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly to minimize downtime.
- Adhere rigorously to workplace safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of materials and tools.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance operational skills and stay updated with new technologies or process improvements.
- High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
- 0 to 1 year of experience operating press brake or similar manufacturing equipment preferred but not required; equivalent mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn are valued.
- Basic understanding of machine operations and manual dexterity sufficient to perform set-up and adjustments accurately.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work with minimal error.
- Good physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods while performing repetitive tasks.
