Job SummaryWe are seeking a reliable, hardworking Production Assistant to support our manufacturing team at our Houston facility. This is a hands-on role focused on material preparation, shop support, and keeping production moving efficiently. The ideal candidate is energetic, follows instructions well, takes pride in quality work, and maintains a strong safety mindset in a fast-paced production environment.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Production Assistant provides critical support across the shop to help the team meet production goals:
- Prepare and stage materials (aluminum, acrylic, plastics, and other substrates) for fabrication and assembly.
- Perform surface preparation including cleaning, sanding, deburring, and basic finishing work.
- Assist with light assembly, fastening components, applying adhesives, and supporting lead fabricators.
- Move and organize raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished components throughout the shop.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and 5S-compliant work area.
- Follow all safety protocols and consistently use required PPE.
- Support other production tasks as needed (sanding, packaging, material handling, etc.).
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding job status and material needs.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, construction, or mechanical environment preferred.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and use common hand and power tools.
- Reliable transportation and consistent availability for the 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday-Friday schedule.
- Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to follow verbal and demonstrated instructions.
- Safety-first mindset.
- Experience with material handling, forklift operation, or shop tools.
- Prior work in signage, fabrication, or production environments.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team setting while maintaining attention to detail.
