Battery Assembler | ChargerFull Time Hourly Houston, TX, US
SUMMARY:Reporting to the Production Manager, the Battery Assembler plays an essential part in assembling lithium-ion batteries and performing tasks such as loading cells, aligning connectors, gluing covers, soldering, and assembling lids.
DIRECT REPORTS:- N/A
- Performs assigned product manufacturing tasks while operating a variety of machines and becoming familiar with all operational requirements
- Follows work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) given by your team lead
- Understands and applies First In, First Out (FIFO) principles
- Analyzes, estimates workload, and performs multitasking efficiently
- Optimizes production efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings as needed
- Maintains a safe, tidy, and compliant 6S work environment
- Understands department workflow processes and maintain high attention to detail
- Complies with internal policies and industry regulations
- Maintains excellent communication with co-workers, both written and verbal
- Works independently, asking questions when needed
- Performs other duties outside their scope of work as assigned and required
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in a warehouse/manufacturing environment, automation, or assembly is preferred but not required
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Basic knowledge of computers and software
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Collaborative team player with great problem-solving skills
- Awareness of quality systems and the ability to follow processes
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This is a Manufacturing Environment requiring some or all of the following:
- Prolonged periods of sitting while performing assembly tasks at a workstation, as well as the ability to stand for prolonged periods during assembly line work.
- Repetitive tasks involving hand and wrist motions, such as assembling small parts, using tools and operating machinery.
- Fine motor skills for accurate and efficient assembly.
- Frequent reaching, grasping, pushing or pulling production materials.
- Capable of lifting and carrying battery components, tools or assembled units weighing up to 50lbs. May involve moving or positioning items within the manufacturing area.
- Standing, bending or kneeling to access equipment, perform on-site assessments, operate machinery, handle delicate components or performs tasks at various heights and angles.
- Working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels. May involve exposure to battery chemicals or other materials used in the assembly process.
- Required to wear and properly use personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, and lab coats as required by safety protocols.
