Job Title:
Mechanical Assembler
Pay Range: (Level I) Entry level pay rate: USD $18 - $21 an hour & (Level II) Mid level experienced rate: USD $21 - $25 an hour
Duration: 12-18+ months

Shift: 5AM to 3:30PM, Monday through Friday with daily overtime and weekend work required

Description:

  • This position is responsible for the assembly of finished products, components, or sub-assemblies of oil and gas valves and chemical injection pumps.
  • Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures (steeled toed shoes, safety glasses, uniforms and other Personal Protective Equipment that is required must always be worn while performing job)

Level I Functions:

  • Read work instructions, work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, and/or receive verbal instructions regarding required duties
  • Interpret assembly instructions, drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications to build/test quality products
  • Assemble different parts of manufactured products using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment
  • Completely assemble, test and package product built on the line
  • Occasionally disassemble and repair products returned by customer
  • Set up moderate to semi complex test equipment on a variety of products to measure and record assembly conformance to test specifications
  • Set up test stands with appropriate plumbing for pneumatic and hydrostatic tests from required product test specifications
  • Complete required test documentation including test reports
  • Inspect, understand, and document all materials, heat numbers, components, subassemblies, and specifications to assure they meet the accepted quality standards
  • Complete required inspection documentation, marking of heat numbers and nameplate
  • Participate in Lean events with active involvement in CI initiatives
  • Report unsafe acts or conditions to supervision immediately as noticed

Level I KSA’s:

  • Ability to operate assembly and testing equipment properly and safely
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Qualified to operate alone, meets expectations for quality and productivity, can handle all setups and documentation alone
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and Bills of Material (BOM)
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, presses, assembly equipment and product test equipment
  • Ability to use personal computer and/or workstation
  • Ability to meet TAKT Time and quality standards
  • Demonstrates good interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Level II Functions:
  • Assists in orienting, training, assigning, and checking the work of less experienced assemblers
  • Ensure accurate movement of inventory through their assigned area – transactions, production reporting, resolution of negatives, etc.
  • Execute and track shift performance with GEMBA boards daily ensuring root-cause analysis and identify counter measures
  • Completes Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) including inventory transactions
  • Complete and report PR's and ECN reports
  • Assists in preparing, maintaining, and utilizing test stations and test equipment for factory and system acceptance testing
  • Perform layered process audits and quality audits as assigned. Perform product quality audits and roving audits as required
  • Comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing process as it pertains to your respective production cell(s)
  • Proficient in Oracle.
  • Must employ Oracle to navigate and execute tasks to complete work orders, WIP transactions, material workbench, supply demand, material requirements, simulate discrete jobs, etc.

Level II KSA’s:

  • Able to work with limited supervisory guidance
  • Ability to use torque wrenches
  • Effectively use email to communicate (potential) risks to safety, quality, delivery, and productivity
