Job Summary
Responsible for member communications, including newsletters and web/social content. Supports mission and goals by developing, writing, and producing publications. Requires strong writing, communication skills, and print production experience. Participates in quality improvement work groups.
Job Duties- Implements marketing plans by preparing marketing materials and coordinating distribution.
- Creates and distributes materials.
- Tailors oral and written communications according to the audience.
- Serves as managing editor and writer for member, employer, and provider newsletters, soliciting guest editors, maintaining editorial standards, and managing production.
- Establishes and maintains marketing budgets for assigned projects.
- Tracks and reports on return on investment.
- Creates layouts for projects.
- Reviews and selects photographs for publications.
- Coordinates printing and distribution of projects.
- Manages vendor relationships, coordinating directly with newsletter agencies, external printers, graphic artists, photographers, etc.
- Handles contract negotiations and oversight.
- Develops and oversees tracking accountability methods for projects, using evaluations to determine future direction.
- Responds to performance indicators.
- Supports media relations by preparing news releases as needed.
- Provides support to managed care public relations efforts.
- Assists with creation of press releases.
- Works with digital marketing specialist and social media team on campaigns, paid promotions, contests, strategy, content, spend, budget tracking, and analytics.
- Generates content for, posts, and promotes on social media sites.
- Maintains a social media content planning calendar.
- Contributes to internal communications strategy development with leadership and stakeholders.
- Prepares information for internal communications vehicles and distributes finalized communications.
- Ensures consistency and style guidelines are followed across printed materials, group packets, website content, letters, brochures, etc.
- Acts as an editing resource to other marketing staff and consultants, ensuring consistency with the style guide across all materials and departments.
- Work is performed in an office environment; travel may be required.
- Accounts for satisfying all job-specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) – required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Computer literacy and proficiency with marketing tasks.
