Communications Specialist

Plains All American Pipeline is seeking a Communications Specialist to support internal and external communications for our midstream energy operations. Based in Houston, you will draft and edit content for employee updates, leadership messages, presentations, web and social channels, and customer-facing materials. You will help manage crisis and incident communications, ensure message consistency with brand and safety values, and coordinate with Operations, HSE, HR, and Commercial teams.

This role suits a strong writer with energy industry interest, keen attention to detail, and the ability to translate technical information into clear, engaging messages.

Responsibilities

• Develop and edit internal communications, including emails, newsletters, and leadership messages
• Create external communications such as press materials, web content, and social media posts
• Support incident and crisis communications in alignment with safety and regulatory requirements
• Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels
• Translate technical and operational information into clear, audience-appropriate content
• Collaborate with Operations, HSE, HR, and Commercial teams to gather information and align messages
• Assist with communication plans for projects, change initiatives, and stakeholder updates
• Track and report on communication effectiveness and engagement metrics
• Maintain communication calendars and content libraries
• Support preparation of presentations, talking points, and executive communication materials
