The Chief Development Officer (CDO) is a senior executive leader responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive fundraising and development strategy that advances the organization’s mission and long-term sustainability. The CDO provides strategic leadership and management for all philanthropic efforts, including major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, corporate and foundation relations, special events, and donor stewardship, including the management of existing grants, as well as the identification and pursuit of new grant opportunities.

As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CDO partners closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior leaders to cultivate strong donor relationships, inspire philanthropic investment, and build a culture of philanthropy across the organization.

Teamwork is a priority, along with a positive and professional attitude. Must enjoy working in a high-energy environment, maintain strict confidentiality, and show a high level of initiative in managing the Development team and all development initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's Degree with a Master's Degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of related fundraising and development experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge and experience with management and donor stewardship software with preference for Salesforce.
  • Prior supervisory and management experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to prioritize and multitask with the capability to handle multiple individual requests.
  • Time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to be flexible and available to work occasional evenings and weekends as required for special events and donor cultivation.
  • Willingness to perform reasonable job tasks not part of immediate job responsibilities but significant in maintaining member satisfaction and achieving position and agency goals.

$120,000 - $135,000
