Description

Participates in the development and implementation of advancement programs (annual funds, alumni relations, special events, stewardship, public relations, etc.), plans and executes related activities and administrative functions; provides technical knowledge and experience in basic fund-raising principles and advancement activities.

Responsibilities
  • Assists development staff, managers and administrators in developing and implementing annual funds and grassroots programs for alumni and other donor constituent groups; coordinates phone-a-thons, direct mail appeals, membership drives, reunions, special events, etc.
  • Develops and prepares acknowledgements, newsletters, brochures, press releases, reports, correspondence, and informational and solicitation materials for various advancement activities.
  • Plans and conducts meetings, events, and activities to recruit volunteers, build relations with alumni, and maintain goodwill with various constituent groups.
  • Provides guidance and supervision as needed to the UH student foundation and other volunteer student organizations involved in fundraising and other advancement activities.
  • Executes various administrative functions such as preparing and monitoring budgets.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

MQ:
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.

Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.

Additional Posting Information

The Annual Giving Coordinator is responsible for leading the planning, execution and performance of annual giving campaigns that support colleges, units and institutional fundraising priorities. This role serves as a key partner to campus stakeholders, developing fundraising strategies, coordinating campaign implementation and ensuring a strong donor experience throughout the solicitation and stewardship process. The position also supports the growth of the Fund for UH annual fund program through donor engagement, stewardship and campaign management.

  • Lead planning, coordination and execution of annual giving campaigns for colleges, units and institutional priorities.
  • Develop campaign strategies, timelines and implementation plans that align with fundraising goals and donor engagement objectives.
  • Manage annual fund stewardship initiatives, including donor impact reporting and engagement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with development officers, communicators and campus partners to execute integrated fundraising campaigns.
  • Monitor campaign performance and provide recommendations to improve fundraising results, donor participation and engagement.
  • Support reporting, donor analytics and campaign evaluation efforts.
  • Coordinate annual giving service requests and serve as a resource for campus partners seeking fundraising support.
  • Ensure fundraising communications, stewardship activities and donor experiences align with university brand standards and Annual Giving strategy.
Qualification Preferences
  • Experience coordinating fundraising, marketing, donor engagement or advancement initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends and make recommendations to improve campaign performance.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with fundraising databases, CRM systems or donor management platforms is preferred.
  • Knowledge of annual giving, donor stewardship or higher education advancement practices is preferred.
