Employment Requirements

• Must profess a belief in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord.
• Must subscribe to the Young Life Statement of Faith and all related policies.
• Must be ready, willing, and able to fulfill ministry functions as required by the organization.
• Must refrain from conduct that detracts from biblical standards taught and supported by Young Life.
• Must abide by all Young Life policies and practices, including those related to religious belief or ministry activities.

Through both training and direct field ministry experience, learn how to lead and participate in effective Young Life ministry.

• Spiritual Development – “Following Jesus” includes prayer, spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth and health, and church relationships. Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life with time for solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer, and a sincere commitment to understanding God’s Word. Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines within an active church community and lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
• Leadership Development – “Equipping leaders, committees, and staff” includes volunteer care, recruiting, team building, training, supervision, and vision casting. Meet with volunteer leaders and area leadership regularly, recruit and train new leaders, model excellence in club and campaign work, and assist in developing a yearly ministry strategy.
• Resource Development – “Fueling the ministry” includes events, major donor care, public relations (branding), and the TDS team. Raise financial support, maintain good donor care practices, communicate ministry updates to donors, network with community key adults, and assist with camp fundraisers.
• Direct Ministry – “Proclaiming and modeling” includes contact work, club, Campaigners, and camp. Engage actively in all three levels of contact work, lead teams to plan and conduct new or existing Young Life club and Campaigners/discipleship ministries, and implement summer and school‑season camping strategies.
• Ministry Support – “Taking care of business” includes accounting, administration, communication (internal), data management, and strategic planning. Adhere to policies, maintain professionalism, manage finances with stewardship, maintain accurate records, provide clear communication, set yearly strategic plans, and perform duties congruent with gifts and area needs.

• Mission wide Training – None required. Workshops such as New Staff Training, Winter Training, Focus Conferences, and Young Life University are available upon request with director approval.
• Regional Training – No mandatory curriculum; certain regional events may be required at the director’s discretion.
• Area Training – Engage actively in area leadership training. Individualized training supervised by the area director focuses on personal spiritual maturity and character enhancement. Programs include competency in ministry skills (e.g., The 5 C’s), familiarity with area strategy, and introduction to personal fundraising principles.

College degree preferred.

• Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
