Overview

Camp Shield’s mission is to collaborate to empower Women Veterans – emotionally, socially and physically – so that they thrive after military service. Our vision is to reduce the risk of women veteran homelessness and suicide by providing a secure and comfortable healing environment for the veteran and their children to heal and grow. We offer SHE THRIVES workshops, mastermind book clubs, peer‑to‑peer support groups, retreats, financial assistance, and resource referral services, and we plan to add a transitional housing program.

This VISTA will develop sustainable outreach strategies that increase community engagement, expand membership, and strengthen partnerships. By creating systems to engage the community and partner organizations, the role will ensure that women veterans are connected to essential services such as peer‑support programs and financial assistance, contributing to their economic stability and empowerment. The member will assist in building a comprehensive database of community resources to support ongoing engagement efforts.
