Responsibilities
  • Assessment:
    Admission and ongoing assessment of patient’s condition. Provide nursing care to meet physical, psychological and spiritual needs. Notify doctor of changes in assessment that require attention.
  • Planning:
    Design, direct, evaluate, and documents the plan of care, patient/family teaching and the transition of care plan to include a safe appropriate level of care discharge. Work with other clinical disciplines to meet specialized patient care and discharge needs. Formulate a plan of care and daily goals considering the patient’s individualized needs.
  • Implementation:
    Prepare patients physically, psychologically, and spiritually for treatments, surgeries and diagnostic studies to reduce patient anxiety. Know patients' conditions and report significant changes to Charge Nurse/Team Leader and/or physician. Implement patient safety initiatives and protocols including medication safety practices, physician orders, and consult notifications.
  • Evaluation:
    Reassess patients at appropriate intervals following interventions. Notify physician as necessary to modify interventions. Adjust nursing care to meet patient’s emerging and changing needs.
  • Report

    Skills:

    Provide and receive bedside shift reports with family participation. Give an accurate and comprehensive report to the oncoming shift to ensure continuity of patient care. Receive report from off-going shift and delegate tasks as needed to maintain continuity of care according to coworker experience, abilities and patient acuity.
  • Environment & Patient Safety:
    Maintain a safe patient and work environment. Promptly remove used and soiled equipment and linen to appropriate locations. Incorporate national and organizational goals to improve quality, patient safety and satisfaction. Report all patient safety and hazard concerns immediately.
  • Care for Cardiac patients:
    Deliver care to 4-6 patients per shift as applicable.
  • Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and document timely.
  • Collaborate with a variety of other healthcare professionals including social work, care coordination, physical therapy, occupational therapy, laboratory, respiratory therapy and imaging.
Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in Nursing or Diploma; at least one (1) year of RN experience, upon hire
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; current employees grandfathered before July 2020
  • Demonstrated competence in RN performance expectations or meets experience requirements upon hire
  • RN license in Texas upon hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification within 14 days of hire
Preferred
  • Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred

Pay Range

$33.00 - $52.80 /hour
