PositionHouston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is actively seeking Full‑time Intake Psych Registered Nurses for both day and night shifts (7a‑7p or 7p‑7a).
Under the supervision of the Director of Admissions, the Intake Nurse is responsible for screening patient admissions and communicating information to the physician to determine if the patient meets level of care. The Intake Nurse plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care by evaluating the needs of both walk‑in patients and those calling in. This position will actively participate in department meetings, engage in quality initiatives, and ensure that all services align with TJC standards.
Job Duties /Responsibilities- Perform Nursing Assessments for inpatient programs
- Cross‑train other RNs
- Participate in medical emergencies
- Conduct Clinical Assessments
- Medication Management
- Accurate documentation and calls
- Crisis intervention
- Health education to patients/families
- Insurance verifications
- Completing Comprehensive Assessment via phone
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing either through ADN, Diploma or BSN Program
- Licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing
- 1 year experience as an RN in Behavioral Health
- CPR and hospital de‑escalation certifications obtained within 30 days of hire
