Job Summary

Hours:

Four 10‑hour shifts. Call required for nights, holidays, and weekends (rotating based on staffing). Previous cardiovascular OR experience is preferred. The RN collaborates with physicians and the healthcare team to deliver patient care, utilizing the nursing process; provides assessments, assists with exams and treatment, patient education, and records maintenance. 

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing;
    Bachelor of Nursing preferred.
  • Current Texas state license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support.
  • Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and unit requirements.
  • Experience:

    RN I < 1 year, RN II 1‑3 years, RN III 3‑10 years, RN IV 10+ years.
Principal Accountabilities
  • Deliver safe and appropriate care to patients according to the nursing skills inventory and patient needs.
  • Coordinate planning for nursing care with an interdisciplinary team and administer clinical decisions.
  • Collaborate with, direct, and delegate to the healthcare team to achieve positive outcomes based on data, research, and professional standards.
  • Coordinate treatment plans; develop and implement discharge and/or transfer plans.
  • Participate in ongoing evaluation of programs, process improvement, and client‑centered outcomes.
  • Consider diverse patient needs throughout the continuum of care, providing the highest level of service and optimizing the patient experience.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards.
  • Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors; adhere to Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary constraints including time, supply, productivity, and quality of service.
  • Promote professional growth and development by meeting mandatory/continuing education and competency requirements; may serve as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
  • Demonstrate commitment to caring for every community member by creating compassionate and personalized experiences.
  • Other duties as assigned.
