Registered Nurse

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Director (RN) to lead our hospice clinical operations and ensure the highest standards of patient care. This position is responsible for managing clinical staff, overseeing departmental administration, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating interdisciplinary care for patients and families. The Clinical Director plays a vital leadership role in maintaining clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and quality outcomes across the agency.

🌱 Patient Care & Clinical Oversight

• Ensure high-quality patient care in the home setting
• Oversee clinical department operations, staffing, and productivity
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams, patients, families, and referral partners
• Direct clinical staff in following care plans, policies, and procedures
• Support clinical decision-making and maintain adherence to hospice standards
• Monitor and analyze QAPI and HOPE outcomes
• Implement corrective actions for quality improvement
• Ensure compliance with agency policies, state/federal regulations, and accreditation standards
• Promote infection control practices and standard precautions
• Maintain accurate and complete clinical documentation
• Direct and coordinate clinical departments and satellite sites
• Guide and support clinical staff to maintain care quality and compliance
• Participate in hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management
• Foster effective communication and strong working relationships across the agency
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and QAPI/HOPE initiatives

• Strong nursing skills aligned with accepted standards of practice
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication abilities
• Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain professionalism
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Must maintain confidentiality, integrity, and composure in stressful situations
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto liability insurance
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various home environments
• Primarily office-based during agency hours
• May require patient home visits under varying conditions
• Exposure to bodily fluids, infectious diseases, and inclement weather may occur
• Local travel required; flexible schedule needed

• Current RN license in Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
• 3–5 years of hospice or home care experience as an RN within the last 12 months (hospice preferred)
• Management or supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or BSN program
• Must meet all continuing education requirements
• Must be available in person or via telecommunication for emergencies, including death pronouncements
