Job Summary
The Experienced Clinical Nurse on the G11 Hospital Medicine Unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating, and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care. They impact quality of patient care, patient outcomes, and use of resources in a designated area in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
Ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in nursing, an RN license and at least twelve months of recent RN experience in an acute care setting. This unit has openings for 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am with rotating weekends and holidays required.
Hourly breakdown of salary range:
Minimum $32.70 - Midpoint $50.48 - Maximum $68.27
- Three 12-hour shifts per week, 1872 hours per year (minimum)

A 30-bed inpatient unit provides care to adult medical oncology inpatients with a diagnosis of solid tumor malignancies; primary services include genitourinary, breast, and internal medicine. Patients require nursing interventions for the management of chronic and acute disease-related symptoms, pain control, treatment‑related side effects; chemotherapy and biotherapy administration and patient and family teaching. Quality and patient outcomes are at the heart of our practice, and the team actively participates in evidence‑based practice, unit and hospital‑based committees, and local and national conferences.

Other Requirements:
All clinical nurses with less than one year of registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.
This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening.
