Locum - Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine Houston, TX

Hourly Pay Rate:  $402.00

In this role, you will perform comprehensive Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, primarily interview-based with some physical assessments such as range of motion and strength testing. No prescribing or treatment is involved. The position is on a PRN basis, offering flexibility with options for half-day or full-day shifts.

Required Skills:

Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Texas

Experience in General Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related fields

Strong interviewing skills and clinical assessment capabilities

Ability to work independently and manage timely report submissions

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Nice to Have

Skills:

Prior experience with Compensation & Pension exams or Veterans’ healthcare

Knowledge of physical assessment procedures

Familiarity with VA or government healthcare protocols

Preferred

Education and Experience:

Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general medicine or related specialties

Previous experience performing medical exams for VA or similar agencies is a plus

Other Requirements:

Provider must have own office within 50 miles of Houston, TX, or be willing to work on a per diem basis at a VES facility if within 50 miles of the listed location

Quick credentialing and onboarding process

Availability to start on February 13, 2026

Willingness to perform administrative follow-up work such as addendums and reports after exams
