About the Position
Join Our Team as a Locum - Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine Houston, TX

As a Locum Nurse Practitioner specializing in General Medicine, you will provide essential assessments and contribute directly to the well-being of Veterans across the country. This flexible, PRN position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while maintaining control over your schedule and locale.
Required Skills:
Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Texas
Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery
Strong interview skills with the ability to conduct accurate physical assessments
Exceptional attention to detail and report documentation
Ability to work independently and adhere to clinic guidelines
Reliable transportation to reach Veterans’ own offices within a 50-mile radius of Houston, TX
Nice to Have
Skills:
Prior experience with Compensation & Pension exams or military healthcare
Familiarity with electronic medical records and reporting systems
Certification in relevant medical specialties or additional licensure in related fields
Preferred
Education and Experience:
Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP)
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in general medicine
Prior experience in a locum or temporary healthcare setting is advantageous
Other Requirements:
Own a fully equipped medical office within 50 miles of Houston, TX, or reside nearby for per diem roles
Willingness to perform quick credentialing and onboarding processes
Compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations
Ability to complete exams with minimal oversight, including interview-based assessments and physical tests such as range of motion and muscle strength evaluations
This role boasts competitive hourly pay at $402.00 per hour, with additional bonuses for training completion and initial exams.
