Are you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with a passion for providing exceptional general medical care? We are seeking a motivated and experienced Locum Nurse Practitioner to join our team on a flexible, part-time basis.

In this vital role, you will perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, primarily interview-based with some physical assessments, supporting our nation's veterans. Your expertise will help ensure veterans receive accurate evaluations in a timely manner, making a meaningful difference in their lives. The position is flexible, allowing you to work either half-days or full days, based on your availability, providing a perfect balance between work and personal commitments.

Key skills for success include strong clinical assessment abilities, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Candidates must have a valid Nurse Practitioner license, with experience in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or orthopedic surgery considered an asset. Prior experience with compensation and pension assessments or veterans' health services is advantageous but not mandatory.

Preferred candidates possess a minimum of one year of clinical practice, effective time management skills, and a proven ability to perform interview-based physical assessments. The role requires local candidates only, with travel included in the hourly rates; candidates must have their own office within 50 miles of designated locations in Vermont or be prepared to conduct exams at a VES facility if applicable.

Other requirements include a valid certification, current license, and the ability to complete required training and onboarding efficiently. All work is on a per diem basis with the possibility of ongoing assignments, offering a flexible schedule tailored to your availability.

This position offers a competitive flat rate of $600 for half-day shifts (up to 4 hours) and $1,200 for full-day shifts (5 hours or more), with a one-time bonus of $650 upon completing all initial training and your first exams. Benefits include weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical coverage (W-2), and reimbursements for licensure, certifications, travel, and other qualified expenses.
