About the Position
Locum Nurse Practitioner – General Medicine Houston, TX
Join our team as a highly valued Locum Nurse Practitioner specializing in General Medicine, providing essential care and assessments in a dynamic, flexible environment. Whether you prefer to work in your own office or at a VES facility, this role is designed to accommodate your availability and expertise, delivering rewarding experience on a PRN basis.
Required Skills:
Valid Nurse Practitioner license with Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or relevant specialties
Experience with general medicine, physical assessments, and interview-based evaluations
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to execute physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing
Attention to detail and adherence to protocol and deadlines
Nice to Have
Skills:
Prior experience with compensation and pension exams
Background in orthopedic surgery or similar specialties
Familiarity with veteran patient populations
Ability to perform both interview-based and physical assessments confidently
Preferred
Education and Experience:
Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP)
At least 1-2 years of clinical practice, preferably in primary or general medicine
Experience with veteran health assessments is a plus
Other Requirements:
Willingness to travel within 50 miles of designated locations or work at your own office if applicable
Availability to work on a PRN basis, including occasional overnight or weekend shifts
Credentialing and onboarding compliance with VES standards
CPR/BLS certification required
Must pass background checks and fulfill all regulatory licensing requirements
Ability to complete exams, submit reports promptly, and perform administrative follow-up as needed
