- Conduct thorough assessments of patients scheduled for surgical or invasive procedures to evaluate their physical and emotional readiness
- Review medical histories, including pre-existing conditions, allergies, medications, and previous surgeries, to identify potential risks or complications
- Coordinate diagnostic tests such as blood work, ECGs, and X-rays to ensure patients are medically fit for their procedures
- Assess and document current medications, including dosage and frequency; make recommendations for adjustments in consultation with physicians
- Provide patients and families with detailed information about upcoming procedures, including expectations, preoperative instructions, and potential risks
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to implement individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, including assessments, test results, and team communications
- Adhere to infection control protocols and screen patients for contagious illnesses to reduce surgical site infection risk
- Monitor and address safety concerns related to allergies, fall risk, or other vulnerabilities

Required Qualifications- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or higher
- Texas RN license
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- 2+ years of RN experience in Pre-Assessment, PACU, Pre-Op, or Endoscopy
- Work Unit:
Single Unit - Basic computer skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Certification in Peri-Anesthesia Nursing (CAPA or CPAN)
- Nursing experience in perioperative or preoperative settings
- RN experience in Pre-Op, Pre-Admission Testing (PAT), ER, Infusion Therapy, Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), or hospital setting
- Familiarity with preoperative assessment and care protocols
- Proven excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide detailed education to patients and families on perioperative processes
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $28.94 to $51.63 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
