The Patient Care Technician on the G15 Myeloma/Lymphoma unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse and directly impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, a CNA certification and at least one year of patient care experience. The candidate must be available to work a combination of two 12-hour shifts and two-eight hour shifts each week, with rotating weekends and holidays. Evening/Night shift from 7:00pm - 7:00am, 3:00pm - 11:00pm, and 11:00pm - 7:00am.

G15 Myeloma/Lymphoma is a specialized inpatient unit providing comprehensive care for patients with hematologic malignancies, including multiple myeloma and lymphoma. Nurses on this unit deliver complex therapies, manage side effects, and provide education and emotional support to patients and families.

Hourly breakdown of salary range:

Minimum $18.27 - Midpoint $22.84 - Maximum $27.40

Essential Job Functions:

- Provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse.

- Impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.

- Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs.

- Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge and obtaining vital signs.

- Updates and retrieves patient information.

- Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner.

- Acts as part of an assigned care team.

- Other duties as assigned.

Education Required:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience Preferred: One year experience in an acute care hospital setting as a Nursing Assistant.

Licensure/Certification
