Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for an Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team! This position will support the Willowbrook location in Houston, Texas. The role is Monday‑Friday, no weekends or holidays, and no on‑call duties.

The position may be at level I, II, or Senior, depending on the candidate’s experience.

Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)

The LTIP is an incentive program that typically vests over a three‑year period and is tied to both individual performance and the operational success of Texas Oncology. Awards are discretionary, based on position, performance, and potential for future career growth, and are reviewed and approved during the annual compensation review. What

does the Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) do?

Under minimal supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care that adheres to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. The RN demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental differences across age groups and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to assess and therapeutically manage patient and family needs. The RN supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
    • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional materials.
  • Prepare and administer therapies under physician direction and supervision.
    • Administer all medications and blood products using correct dosage, route, timing, and technique.
    • Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration where applicable.
    • Facilitate dose modifications by assessing patient labs, consulting protocols or treatment plans, calculating dose, and consulting physicians regarding dosage adjustments, problems, and symptom management.
    • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
    • Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Qualifications
