Minivasive Pain and Orthopedics is looking for a Nurse Practitioner Orthopedic to join our team!
The Nurse Practitioner Orthopedic is responsible for providing medical services to patients, inclusive of all functions necessary to provide medical care under the direction of the physician at all clinics. Functioning as a clinical provider, maintaining and promoting the health of the patient requiring acute care according to the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Texas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Conducts complex and standardized patient care procedures, which require experience and specialized training that would otherwise be performed by a physician, but which do not constitute the practice of medicine.
- Performs relevant patient assessments and physical examinations and provides appropriate treatment.
- Coordinates, directs, and implements patient’s plan of care.
- Manages pre-operative and post-operative patients in coordination with the faculty supervising physician.
- Utilizes advanced assessment skills to anticipate complex patient problems specific to surgery while communicating information to supervising/attending physicians.
- Orders, conducts, and interprets pertinent laboratory and diagnostic studies and procedures.
- Makes medical recommendations and/or referrals.
- Formulates, implements, and evaluates an outcome-based treatment plan.
- Maintains appropriate records detailing the patient’s treatment plans and outcomes. Enters chart documentation for review and counter signature by the physician.
- Facilitates patient education relating to medical processes, medication, nutrition, and health promotion or postsurgical care.
- Collaborates with patients, families, other clinicians, and referral services to assist in the patient’s recovery.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Responsible and accountable for own professional practice.
- Knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and business practices.
- Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities to document, track and convey information.
- Ability to adapt and demonstrate flexibility
- Master’s degree in nursing
- Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
- Texas Board of Nursing Advance Practice Registered Nurse license (APRN)
- Prescriptive authority privileges through the State of Texas
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified
- Valid Texas Driver’s License

Compensation to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Employment for this position is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
