Position Overview

Registered Nurse – Float Pool – Kingwood Hospital. Provide nursing care for assigned patients in applicable age‑specific populations, working in a multidisciplinary team and following hospital policies and procedures.

• Coordinate nursing care of assigned patients in unit to provide quality patient care to applicable age populations.
• Apply knowledge of growth and development principles, physical, psychological, educational, safety criteria for appropriate age populations.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care using the nursing process, exercising independent judgment.
• Work cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient‑care team personnel to maintain professional standards.
• Assist, initiate processes, and provide assistance when indicated.
• Prioritize activities based on demand for service, maintain awareness of own limitations and seek guidance.
• Detect errors in own work and others, initiate appropriate corrective actions.
• Demonstrate understanding of patient rights, confidentiality, informed decision‑making, and privacy.
• Refer patients and families to appropriate ethical resources when necessary.
• Practice cost‑efficiency and perform technical skills proficiently per established standards.
• Maintain Tardiness/Attendance Policy compliance.
• Adhere to hospital and Nursing Service Division policies and procedures.
• Assess patients’ condition, nursing needs, and report observations to physicians and Charge Nurse.

• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of start.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of start.
