Reliant Healthcare is hiring a Nurse Practitioner for a Reliant Specialty Infusion Clinic in Houston, TX.

The Infusion Clinic Nurse Practitioner provides primary care for specifically assigned patients to include assessments, care planning, evaluation and education of patients receiving infusion therapy.

JOB SUMMARY

The Infusion Clinic Nurse Practitioner will promote a positive clinic environment centered on safe and professional patient care experience. The nurse practitioner is responsible for quality and accuracy of services provided and performs all tasks with the utmost care. Thoroughly review patient orders, medications, and health information and administer parenteral medications in accordance with the treatment plan. The nurse practitioner will assess and monitor patients' health status and must be able to detect changes in symptoms or health status, know when additional interventions are necessary, and consult the local Medical Director, referring Physician (MD), Physician Assistant (PA), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or clinic staff.

Must thoroughly and accurately document all activities in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The nurse practitioner will report to the Operations Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides friendly and professional service in person, over the phone and through written communications
  • Demonstrates empathy and understanding to establish rapport with patients and caregivers of all ages
  • Initiates and maintains IV access for infusions
  • Safely and accurately administers medications, without error, including oral, IM, SQ, and IV products
  • Performs ongoing patient assessments and notifies the supervising clinician of all abnormal findings
  • Uses Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to thoroughly input information, orders, schedule appointments and document all patient care activities and interventions
  • Accurately performs necessary nursing responsibilities including, but not limited to initiating and maintaining IV access for infusions, weighing patients, performing vital signs, phlebotomy procedures, administering oxygen
  • Demonstrates appropriate storage and handling of drug products as well as human specimens
  • Educates patients regarding symptom/side effect management during therapy and within the scope of practice
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with patients, coworkers and other healthcare professionals
  • Demonstrates an organized and efficient prioritization of workload and responsibilities
  • Maintains a current knowledge of all equipment utilized and performs and/or oversees routine maintenance, calibration and quality assurance of all equipment
  • Assist with scheduling patients, collecting and posting payment
  • Manages supply orders, inventory/par levels and required reporting
  • Manages Employee ADP and scheduling
  • Ensures all clinic clinical staff are educated regarding medications administered on location including infusion preparation, managing anaphylaxis and/or code emergency situations
  • Maintains professional conduct at all times
  • Actively participates with organizational quality and performance improvement efforts
  • Demonstrates a commitment toward exhibiting Reliant Specialty Infusions core values/mission and advancing RSI strategic goals
  • Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing education
  • Provides oversight to clinic staff
  • Provides open lines of communication between other departments
    - Pharmacy, Case Management, Sales
  • Performs all other duties as required and assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure
  • Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • At least three years of clinical experience that includes training in infusion therapy
  • Proficient with EHR platforms, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Must be a top‑notch team player, provide exceptional patient care and excellent customer service
