Registered Nurse III-PRN (PICC Team) – LBJ | Salary: $47.37 – $57.80 per hour

Job Summary

The Nurse Clinician III (Competent Specialist) has the education, licensure, and clinical experience to independently manage patients with common problems in an acute or primary care setting, provide clinical leadership, and apply nursing standards and practices as defined by the Texas Nursing Practice Act and Harris Health Nursing Service.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education/Licensure/Specialized Training
    • Graduated from an accredited school of Nursing; BSN preferred.
    • Licensed to practice nursing in Texas;
      Basic Life Support certification from an AHA or Red Cross program; additional certificates as required by unit or service.
  • Work Experience
    • Three (3) years of RN experience.
  • Clinical Performance
    • Annual performance review, resume, CV, or portfolio reflecting leadership in a professional practice environment.
  • Clinical Leadership
    • One (1) year of clinical leadership experience that meets at least two of the following five criteria: preceptor, charge nurse, certification, mentor, CoP chair, or QI Champion.
  • Certification
    • Designated professional nursing certification for specialty.
  • Special Requirements
  • Communication Skills
    • Above average verbal communication skills (heavy public contact).
    • Bilingual skills required; preferred languages: any.
    • Writing and composing: adequate to accurately interpret and transmit clinical information in English, both verbally and in written form, and to send/receive messages understandable to patients/families/so.
    • Special language skills as necessary for the role.
  • Other Skills
    • Knowledge of medical terms, mathematics, and PC/Windows proficiency.
  • Advanced Education
    • Advance training specialty: designated professional nursing certification for specialty.
    • Preferred:
      Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing/BSN.
  • Work Schedule
    • Weekends, holidays, flexible, on‑call.
  • Supervisor Relationship
    • Designated supervisor present.
    • Responsible to position.
