Pre-Admissions Testing (PAT) Nurse

WhatYou’ll Do
- Conduct pre‑operative assessments via phone or in person, reviewing medical histories and identifying potential anesthesia or surgical risks.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and primary care providers to obtain necessary clearances and lab work.
- Educate patients on pre‑surgery instructions, including fasting, medication management, and arrival logistics.
- Ensure all required documentation is complete prior to the scheduled procedure.
- Identify and expedite any health concerns that may affect surgical clearance.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough charting in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Support patient safety, satisfaction, and readiness through proactive communication and education.
- Medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage.

Required Skills- Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- High attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate and professional patient interaction.
- Current RN license in the state of Texas (or compact license).
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- BLS certification required.
- Minimum of 1 year of pre‑op, PACU, or pre‑admissions experience preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR systems and surgical workflows.
