UT MD Anderson's Genitourinary Cancer Center is among the nation's leading programs for treating cancers of the urinary tract and male reproductive system. Our team-based approach brings together medical oncologists, surgeons, and radiation oncologists to deliver personalized care. Advanced treatments such as nerve-sparing prostate surgery, robotic bladder surgery, innovative immunotherapies, and specialized care for genetic conditions like von Hippel-Lindau disease are available.
MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Clinical Nurse for its Genitourinary Cancer Center outpatient team.
- Participate in daily unit operations to achieve and maintain financial goals while utilizing resources efficiently.
- Provide quality and fiscally responsible patient care.
- Proactively anticipate patient and family needs in collaboration with Charge Nurse, Clinical Nurse Leader, and Nurse Manager.
- Utilize available material resources responsibly for direct patient care.
- Participate in change initiatives, foster peer relationships, and engage in coaching and mentoring.
- Comply with regulatory standards.
- Assess, coordinate, implement, and evaluate delivery of safe and effective patient and family care using evidence-based and empirical outcome measurements.
- Provide feedback to the Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, and Clinical Nurse Leader through evaluation of performance of clerical and clinical staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Shift: Monday–Friday 8:00 am–4:30 pm (30‑minute lunch).
Work location:
Texas Medical Center.
Salary range: $68,000–$142,500. Minimum $32.69/hour, midpoint $50.58/hour, maximum $68.51/hour.
Qualifications- Licensed RN with at least two years of nursing experience, preferably in an outpatient setting.
- Experience with genitourinary (GU) care and related procedures highly preferred; oncology experience is a plus.
- Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). BLS or CPR certification. ACLS certification if working in ASC Post Anesthesia (600761); PALS if working in ASC Post Anesthesia (600761) or Pedi-Child & Adolescent Center (113200).
- Preferred: OCN – Oncology Nurse Certification or other specialty certification.
- Preferred:
Two years of clinical nurse experience in an ambulatory/outpatient setting; GENITOURINARY and oncology experience.
Required:
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
All clinical nurses with less than one year of registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.
