Patient Care:

Interviews patients; takes medical histories; assesses patient health; performs physical examinations; administers injections/ immunizations; performs suturing, splinting, casting; manages wounds and infections.

Instructs / counsels patients; explains treatments and medications; counsels / promotes emotional and physical health and wellness.

Obtains / studies medical histories; documents patient and clinic records.

Administers / orders diagnostic tests; interprets results; makes diagnoses; prescribes medications and other treatments.

Identifies short- / long-range patient care issues; recommends courses of action; implements physician directives.

Provides / ensures continuity of care; develops / implements patient care management plans.

Complies / ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements, and infection control protocols and policies.

Develops health care team staff; provides training and educational / growth opportunities.

Maintains professional / technical knowledge; reviews professional journals; establishes personal network; participates in educational workshops and professional associations.

Collaborates with clinic staff to recommend / improve patient care practices, and clinic guidelines and workflow.

Ensures adherence to HIPAA regulations.
