The Clinical Nurse on G10
East Gynecologic/Radiation Unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care. They impact quality of patient care, patient outcomes and use of resources in a designated area in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, an RN license and at least twelve months of recent RN experience in medical/surgical or an acute care setting. This unit has both day shift and night shift available; 7am - 7pm or 7pm-7am, with rotating weekends and holidays required.
The Inpatient G10
East Gynecologic/Radiation Unit is a 25‑bed unit with our faculty and nursing team treating and providing nursing care management to all types of surgical and radiation oncology inpatient patients. Our primary population is delivered to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Treatment modalities include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, medical management and supportive care to patients with gynecological malignancies and patient undergoing radiation therapy.
Breakdown of Salary Range
- Minimum $32.70 - Midpoint $50.48 - Maximum $68.27
- Three 12 hour shifts per week, 1872 hours per year (minimum)
- $8,320 annual inpatient differential, paid $346.67 per paycheck

- Accountable for the management and provision of patient care in assigned area.
- Assesses patient's needs for nursing care and multidisciplinary team.
- Collaborates with physicians, other services, patient and family to plan care and evaluate outcomes.
- Improves practice by integrating results and theories of research studies.
- Participates in data collection for current studies.
- Demonstrates clinical competency and compassion in providing care, using technology, administering medications, performing procedures and managing emergencies.
- Documents care according to established standards.
- Accesses, inputs and retrieves information from computer systems.
- Assures continuity of care through appropriate discharge planning, patient education and coordination of services.
- Acts as a patient and family advocate in order to uphold patient rights.
- Trains, coaches and assists team members to ensure optimum patient care and efficient use of resources.
Education Required:
Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Education Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing would be a plus.
Experience
Required:
All clinical nurses with less than one-year registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program. This position is not eligible for the residency program.
