Job Summary

The Nurse Clinician II (NCII) has the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the standards for professional practice specified in the Texas Nursing Practice Act and by HCHD Nursing Service. The NCII independently and safely manages patients with problems common to the assigned clinical area, recognizing when assistance is needed and seeking appropriate resources.

• Degrees:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Diploma in Nursing from an accredited nursing school

• Licensure/Certification:

  • Registered Nurse licensed to practice in Texas
  • Basic Life Support from the AHA or Red Cross
  • Other certificates as required by unit/service
• Work Experience:
  
  One year full‑time RN experience or completion of the GN Program.
• Language
  
  Skills:
  
  Bilingual preferred.

• Communication
  
  Skills:

  • Above average verbal (heavy public contact)
  • Exceptional verbal (public speaking)
  • Writing/composing correspondence and reports
• Proficiencies: PC.
