Job Description
Bio Life Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. This Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) will support plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager or Assistant Manager and the Center Physician for medical issues. The role requires a commitment to customer service and quality.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self‑exclusion.
- Conduct medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions, handle medical emergencies per SOP, and coordinate transport to emergency care facilities.
- Provide guidance to donors on unacceptable findings and medical or technical issues.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate level credentials from a recognized nursing program meeting state requirements.
- Current RN, NP, or PA license in the state of assignment.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- At least two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
Hourly wage range: $24.32 - $33.44 (USD) for U.S. workers. U.S. employees may earn up to 80 hours of sick time and new hires accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
