The Patient Care Technician position on the GU/Breast/Hospital Medicine at MD Anderson Cancer Center provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse, directly impacting patient comfort and outcomes.
Ideal candidate must have a high school diploma and either one year of recent experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant or a CNA certification.
Shifts:
12‑hour shifts, 7am‑7pm or 7pm‑7am with rotating weekends and holidays.
A 30‑bed inpatient unit providing care to adult medical oncology inpatients with a diagnosis of solid tumor malignancies; primary services include genitourinary, breast, and internal medicine. Patients require nursing interventions for the management of chronic and acute disease‑related symptoms, pain control, treatment‑related side effects, chemotherapy and biotherapy administration, and patient and family teaching.
Hourly salary range:
Minimum $17.55 – Midpoint $21.88 – Maximum $26.20.

- Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team to identify and address patient care needs.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, mobilization, admission/discharge processes, and obtaining vital signs.
- Update and retrieve patient information accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly patient environment.
- Function as part of an assigned care team to support coordinated patient care.

- Preferred: CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant Upon Hire
- Must pass pre‑employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
