Clinical Nurse - Ambulatory Treatment Center (ATC)

Full‑time, on‑site position at the Texas Medical Center (TMC) Region, including ATC Main, ATC Mays, and/or ATC Life Science Plaza (LSP).

Rotating weekends and holidays

Salary: $68,000 minimum – $105,200 mid‑point – $142,500 maximum (Annual). Hourly breakdown: $32.69 minimum – $50.58 mid‑point – $68.51 maximum.

The Clinical Nurse administers and monitors a variety of systemic cancer therapies and injectable infusions to adults in the Ambulatory Treatment Center. Candidates should have infusion experience (chemotherapy infusion preferred) and strong clinical assessment and communication skills. Backgrounds in medical/surgical, emergency, dialysis, or other acute‑care settings are encouraged.

• Administer infusions including chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, research studies, blood products, IVIG, growth factors, antibiotics, electrolytes, and hydration.
• Accurately administer and monitor infusions via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous routes.
• Perform independent double‑check for chemotherapy administration.
• Handle and dispose of chemotherapy safely to minimize hazardous drug exposure.
• Manage infusion pumps (connect, disconnect).
• Monitor and manage treatment‑related side effects and adverse reactions.
• Minimize infection risk for immunocompromised patients.
• Identify early side effects for effective self‑management.
• Provide patient and family education for future care needs.
• Develop collaborative relationships with physicians and the health‑care team.

• Required:
  
  Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

• Preferred:
  Two years of nursing experience, preferably chemotherapy infusion therapy.

• Required:
  
  RN – Registered Nurse – State Licensure, current Texas Professional Nursing license.
• Required:
  
  ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
• Required:
  
  PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support (if working in Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit).
• Preferred: OCN – Oncology Nurse Certification.
• Preferred:
  Certification in specialty practice area.

• Clinical nurses with less than one year of RN experience must complete the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.
• Position may require routine reviews and screening to maintain security and integrity of critical infrastructure.
